CORDON BLEU CASSEROLE

 

2-1/2 lbs. chicken breasts, cooked, cut into pieces
8-oz. package of wide egg noodles
3 cans Cream of Chicken soup
1/2 to 1 soup can of milk
8-oz. package frozen green peas
6-oz. package of ham (lunchmeat), cut into pieces
3/4 lb. Swiss cheese, cut in small pieces
Bread crumbs
 
 
Cook the noodles (don't overcook) and then drain them. During the final 2 minutes of cooking the noodles, add the peas.
 
Mix the soup and milk together for a sauce.
 
Layer in a baking dish or Dutch oven:
1/2 the noodles and peas
1/2 the chicken and ham
1/2 the Swiss cheese
1/2 sauce
Repeat the layers.
 
Sprinkle top of casserole with bread crumbs.
 
Bake till hot and bubbly at 350 degrees.
Makes 5-6 servings.
